- Is a fig candle supposed to smell like fruit?
- Usually not. The fig accords people love are built from leaf, wood and sap, which read green and slightly milky. A fig candle that smells primarily of fruit is a different thing, and it tends to go cloying as the room warms.
- Why is the alternative more expensive than the original?
- Small-batch makers pour in smaller runs and price accordingly. That is a fair reason for a candle to cost more, but it is not a reason to call it a saving, so we rank on cost per hour and let the number decide.
