Your return is with the shop you bought from
We do not sell candles, so we cannot take one back. Whoever took your payment is who owes you the refund — and on a comparison site that is worth knowing before you buy rather than after.
Every buy link here goes to a brand’s own shop or to a retailer. Their return policy governs your order, not ours. Their terms are usually linked in the footer of the page you land on, and it is worth a look before you pay: return windows on home fragrance range from generous to non-existent, and several brands will not take back a candle that has been lit at all.
If a shop we linked to treats you badly, we would genuinely like to know. We choose which retailers to send readers to, and a shop that refuses a fair return is one we should stop linking. Tell us what happened.
When we do sell our own
Scent is personal and nobody can judge it through a screen, so a return window that survives actually lighting the candle is what we intend to offer. That is a stated intention and not yet a policy: there is nothing to buy, no payment processor behind it, and no terms to enforce. The real policy gets published here, in full, before the first candle goes on sale — never retrofitted afterwards.
What we do instead of selling: compare what candles cost per hour to burn, and record who published which burn time. We run no burn tests of our own, and nothing on this site is a measurement we made.
